Getaways in Oklahoma for Fall Foliage

The leaves are about to start changing colors, and now might be a good time to think about some of the fantastic fall getaways in Oklahoma you can take. Here are a couple of places we think you might be interested in seeing before the snow starts to fall.

Talimena National Scenic Byway – This 54-mile route goes over the rivers and through the woods of some of the most beautiful scenery in the state. Along the way, you will see the magnificent evergreen pines that populate the Ouachita National Forest.

Robbers Cave State Park – Located just outside of Wilburton, this wonderful park will steal your heart and take your breath away. They offer horse rides through the park, and with plenty of cabins and tent sites, it’s the perfect place for a quick romantic getaway.

Feel like doing something more structured and culturally enriching? Take a look at the many festivals and events the Native American nations in Oklahoma are organizing this fall. Each offers their own unique heritage, and they are worth taking the time to attend.
